After Thoughts: Courtney “C” of C’s Life with D

We had another great show last week. Or guest was Courtney, from C’s Life With D (and @iamsqueeon twitter).   Courtney has always been one of my favorite bloggers because she is unafraid of talking (writing) about some really deep emotional aspects of her life with diabetes.

Courtney’s story is very interesting to me.  She is a registered dietitian in her home state of Iowa, and we also learned that she’s a licensed teacher!  A skill that comes in incredibly handy as she teaches her patients about many aspects of food and nutrition.  I think it’s a perfect match of educational background that serves both her and her patients well.

She discovered the DOC (Diabetes Online Community) through her mom, which I think is really neat.  Like many of us, she didn’t listen to her mom right away, but revisited the idea a few years later.  Falling in love with Juvenation.org, which introduced her to the online community, it didn’t take long for her to also adopt twitter and then to start her own blog.  I’m very thankful she did, as she has a lot of wisdom to share with us.

She said that she never knew how much she needed the support of the DOC until she had it.  I think many of us can speak those very same words.  That is the power of the DOC.

We had a lot of fun on the show, and also managed to have some very deep discussions around the emotions of diabetes.  I hope you’ll share an hour of your time with us and listen to the show.

Thank you Courtney!
