David has been working in the nonprofit arena for his entire professional career, specifically with organizations addressing the diabetes epidemic, first JDRF and now the American Diabetes Association.
In his current role, he oversees the strategic direction on a national level for the Association’s signature walk event, Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes. With more than 120,000 walkers participating in more than 120 events across the country, Step Out raises $20.5 million annually in support of the Association’s mission to prevent and cure diabetes and improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
David has always had a passion for walk-a-thons, as they provide an opportunity for individuals to come together and raise critical funds and awareness in support of a common cause.
On a personal level, David has many loved ones and friends with diabetes. His sister, father, grandfather and several cousins all have type 2 diabetes, and his wife’s aunt has type 1.
David received his B.A. in Liberal Arts from DeSales University in Pennsylvania.
