Christopher Angell is the Creator and Chief Person With Diabetes (PWD) of GlucoLift All-Natural Glucose Tablets. Diagnosed with type-1 diabetes in 2007 at age 30, Christopher learned first-hand that for people living with a chronic illness little things, like the taste of a glucose tablet, can have a huge impact on quality of life over time. Dissatisfied by glucose products whose chalkiness and artificial ingredients unnecessarily exacerbated the unpleasantness of the low blood sugar episodes they were intended to treat, Christopher created GlucoLift so that people with diabetes could have a delicious, effective and natural way to raise their blood sugar.
Prior to GlucoLift, Christopher and his wife Suzanne created Angell Organic Candy bars, a line of Fair Trade and certified organic candy bars, sold at many natural food retailers across the United States. They sold Angell Bars in March of 2012, allowing Christopher to pursue his dream to contribute to diabetes care in his professional life.
Always the entrepreneur with a conscience, Christopher founded an arts-and-culture non-profit soon after graduating from Vassar college. This venture lead him to Johannesburg, South Africa, where he lived and worked almost 3 years, managing a studio and organizing exhibitions and residencies for local artists. Upon returning to the United States to apply to business school, Christopher continued his work in the arts as an Associate for Works&Process, where he produced a weekly performing arts series at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City.
Christopher received his MBA from the international business school INSEAD, studying in both Fontainebleau, France, and Singapore. His first job after business school was as Advisor to the Chairman of the Russian Standard Group, Roustam Tariko, based in Moscow.
He currently lives with his wife in San Diego, CA.
