Her son Nate was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in September of 2009 and her daughter, Sophie was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in June of 2010. Laura blogs about both at Houston We Have A Problem. She is active in her local Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation chapter, local Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation chapter, enjoys reaching out to local families with children newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and loves connecting with other parents living with T1D and Crohn’s through her blog, on Facebook and on Twitter.
